Ondo State Governor,Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has extolled the numerous virtues of the Late Founder of the First Mercy Specialist Hospital,Akure, Dr.Ebenezer Oluyemi Babatunde describing him as an epitome of passion,kindness and generosity in the medical profession.

Akeredolu eulogized the Late Consultant Gynaecologist at the Tributes Service held in his honour at the International Culture and Events Centre(The Dome),Akure today.

The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Health,Pharmacist(Mrs.)Folukemi Aladenola said he joined the family and well-wishers to honour and celebrate the passage of the exemplary personality and icon in the health sector.

Akeredolu described the Late Dr.Babatunde as a renowned gyneacologist and elder statesman who was recognised by both the Federal and State Government for his outstanding contributions to the health sector in Ondo State.

According to him, the late medical icon played very unique and special roles in the health sector in Ondo State for over forty years as a dedicated doctor and consultant gyneacologist prioritizing the care of his patients through his First Mercy Specialist Hospital, Akure, one of the very best privately-owned health care providers in Ondo State where specialized health care are rendered.

Akeredolu equally noted that the deceased provided gainful employments to numerous medical doctors and other health professionals through his well-established and standard hospital where many professionals in the health sector were trained.

While describing death as a necessary end of all mortals, the governor commiserated with the Late Dr.Babatunde's wife, children, family members, and professional colleagues over the irreparable loss.

He however said they must be consoled by his indelible legacies and impactful life that will continually endear and make his fond memories evergreen.

Delivering their tributes, members of the Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners(ANPMP), which the late Dr.Babatunde was their National Patron described him as a noble elder and a unique professional who was highly admired during his lifetime for his generosity.

Speaking on behalf of members of the association, the National President, Prof. Vincent Ujah said the deceased's tremendous contributions to societal development permeate across the hearts of all who knew him.

Ujah averred that his hospital, First Mercy Specialist Hospital, Akure renders dedicated and specialized health care services to the people of Ondo State and beyond.

Also, the Chairman of the Ondo State Chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr.(Mrs.)Stella Adegbehingbe said the late medical icon lived an impactful and fulfilled life saying his hospital has continued to give hope and succor to thousands of people in Ondo State.

Adegbehingbe who described the deceased as an epitome of successful medical practice noted that as an association, he was always ready to answer their call whenever they sought his advice during his lifetime.

In his exhortation, the Chaplain of the Chapel of the Annunciation, Archbishop Vining College of Theology, Akure, The Venerable(Dr.)Simeon Akponorie said the deceased faithfully served God and humanity during his lifetime.

While appreciating God for the highly impactful life the deceased lived, the Cleric charged individuals to emulate his passion and generosity to humanity.

Speaking on behalf of the children, one of the sons of the Late Dr.Babatunde, Chief Magistrate Opeyemi Babatunde said his late father was a humble, committed and diligent medical practitioner who mentored several medical doctors who are all doing well in the medical profession.
