Ondo State Ministry of Health has met with all Partners to assess their activities in their various locations of intervention for 4th Quarter 2023.
While giving her address at the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr (Mrs.) Folukemi Aladenola lauded the various intervention programs of the Partners in the State saying the State is seeing the results of coordinating their activities.
While explaining the reason for the meeting, Dr Aladenola said it was basically to assess what the partners have been doing for the State in their different areas of intervention and to avoid duplication of activities.
She promised that the meeting would be held quarterly in order to keep track of all their activities and progress while charging the Partners to always give the Ministry their workplans and budgets for their programs in order for the State to be able to own it after their exit from the State.
In her words “If you are doing anything for the State and we are not able to capture what you are doing, it will amount to waste of effort. We should be able to have your plans and programs at the level of Ministry of Budget and Planning so that we can capture it in our budget."
She appreciated the Partners for their support and collaboration for moving the health sector of Ondo State forward while also charging them to keep the flag flying.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of World Health Organization (WHO) and the funding partner, Dr Dele David said they would continue to support the Ministry of Health to achieve its mandate of good health care delivery in Ondo State. He emphasized the need for Partners coordination which he said is a way of synergizing with the State.
In attendance were the representatives of World Health Organization (WHO), Damien Foundation, Jhpiego, Maristopes, APIN Public Health, Breakthrough Action, Institute of Human Virology of Nigeria (IHVN) and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).
