ONDO GOVERNMENT DISBURSES N34M TO OFFSET MEDICAL BILLS OF RESIDENTS

The Ondo State Government has disbursed the sum of N34 million to 46 beneficiaries of medical financial assistance initiated by the State Government.

Presenting cheques to beneficiaries, the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa said that the beneficiaries received support from the Government for the treatment of various medical conditions.

Speaking through the Health Commissioner, Dr Banji Ajaka, the Governor noted that the beneficiaries received the financial support from the Government on various kinds of medical conditions.

While saying that the programme aimed to assist persons suffering from various ailments and could not pay their medical bills, the commissioner urged the beneficiaries to use the money for the purpose it was approved.

Ajaka noted that the administration has always taken care of the well being of the Citizens since its inception.

The Commissioner advised the beneficiaries to key into the State Health Insurance Scheme for them to have access to affordable health care.

According to him “We are distributing these cheques to people with various ailments and sicknesses that are unable to take care of their medical bills. Medical assisted programme sought approval for over N200m for various people across the State, but the budgetary approval is limited. We looked at their level of indices and 46 persons benefitted N34m.

We appreciate Mr. Governor for the approval. He was compassionate. We implored them to use the money judiciously. We are advising everybody to key into the Health Insurance.
In years to come we will know the importance of health insurance scheme."

The beneficiaries took time to appreciate the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for bringing succour to them.

They also lauded the Health Commissioner, Dr Ajaka for the development in the health sector and policies initiated by him since he was appointed by the Governor.
