ABOUT AMCHIS
Abiyamo Maternal & Child Health Insurance Scheme (Amchis)
AMCHIS is the equity or social scheme of the Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODHC) that is solely funded by the State Government

It was launched on the 3rd of December, 2019 by the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, at Mother & Child Hospital, Akure

  • It is for all pregnant women and all children under the age of 5 years who are residents of Ondo state

 

  • To be qualified for AMCHIS, you must get your Kaadi Igbeayo from SITA?
  • Children under the age of 5 years shall use their father or mother’s Kaadi Igbeayo to benefit from the scheme and they can register now and not wait till when they are sick

 

  • With Kaadi Igbeayo, all pregnant women and children under the age of 5 years will not pay a kobo for the covered services
  • AMCHIS covers antenatal care, labour, delivery including assisted deliveries and Caesarean section, postnatal care, treatment of common childhood illnesses etc.

 

  • The 9 hospitals providing AMCHIS are;
    • Mother and child hospital, Akure
    • UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Akure
    • UNIMED Teaching Hospital at former Mother & Child Hospital as well as State Specialist Hospital, Ondo
    • State Specialist Hospital, Ikare Akoko
    • General Hospital, Owo
    • General Hospital, Ore
    • State specialist hospital, Okitipupa
    • General Hospital, Igbokoda
